We are now accepting teams for the work. Please contact David Busby, UMVIM SC Recovery Teams Regional Coordinator at davidbusby@sc.rr.com or (803) 794-1362 (R) (803) 530-1110 (cell) for more information. We have folks in great need close to home. Let’s take care of them!!

Allendale Recovery Opportunities
Several non-insured properties in Allendale, South Carolina have been identified as opportunities by a joint team of Allendale municipal personnel and UMVIM SC staff. Basic construction experience is required for all of the individual projects, with knowledge of roofing repair/replacement and sheet rock work being the essential parts of
most projects. Individual project
site selection requests should be coordinated through David Busby (
davidbusby@sc.rr.com) followed by coordination of team housing and feeding arrangements to be coordinated with District Coordinator Jack Bailey (contact numbers listed below). The Allendale Fire Chief has a secure storage site for overnight storage of all supplies, trailers and other large items for all volunteer teams. All team members must be listed on a volunteer member register with Ms. Lee McMillan at the United Methodist Center.

Project 126 Crawford Road Bob & Christine Fields, Tristan Hayward
This project is being managed by Missionary Supply Network. Please contact KC Carter to schedule a team, work time or donation.
House is a total loss, having been moved off the foundation and suffered major structural damage. House must be torn down and replaced with a new home. The Fields are both employed, Bob with the City of Allendale and Christine
with DOT, and Christine has major medical problems requiring several expensive prescription drugs. The Fields are currently living with their nearest relative, about an hours commute from Allendale. On top of all of this, the Fields are raising their three year old grandson, Tristan, who just keeps asking Grandpa, when are we going home? Included is a picture of Tristan’s toy, his Radio Flyer wagon, or at least what is left of it .
Project 5020 Revolutionary Trail, Allendale, SC - Mr. Mike Oglesby
Double wide mobile home with a front and back porch added on. Total size is 58 by 52. The storm damage was to a partially completed roof over project that was destroyed by wind damage. The remaining roof over material must be torn down; with most of the wood material being twisted or damaged to the extent it can not be recycled or reused in the new roof construction. See Fire Chief Stanley for OSB sheeting, but a complete shingled roof will be required. Mr. & Ms. Oglesby are currently living in part of the home with some water damage to part of the mobile home.
